The second day of Unsound begins today, with a small change to announce. The time and place of the opening of Karolina Grzywnowicz‘s work Still Life will be moved. We will give information later on today on where and when her installation will open.
As for the rest of the program, the second day of Unsound 2017 sees the festival’s discourse program begin, with a discussion on hype and accelerationism, an artist talk with Richard Skelton on music and remote landscapes, John Brien presenting the legacy of Harry Bertoia and a discussion about Poland’s Białowieża Forest. Alex from the radical punk band Siksa will lead a workshop on reacting to sexist behaviour. All the talks are free, you can check the exact hours via our online schedule.
A screening of Hyperstition in Kino Pod Barnami follows the accelerationism talk, a movie exploring accelerationist theory and politics. Please note that film screenings are not covered by the festival pass. Tickets that can be purchased at the cinema.
Gregor Różański’s Second Coming opens today in Henryk Gallery, exploring the aesthetics and sensorium related to our shared state of expectancy, whether we’re anticipating the return of traditional values, or revolutionary communities. For exact details and opening time, again, please refer to the schedule page.
The events concerts begin with Eleh, who rarely performs live, presenting a special Unsound performance. He will draw on the landmark Sonambient recordings of Harry Bertoia, who summoned sounds with self-made tonal sculptures to create deeply immersive aural experiences. Next up, Berlin-based Chinese artist Pan Daijing will being to the foreground the act of performance and uneasy audience interaction, while Polish artists Robert Piernikowski and Adam Gołębiewski will close the night with an explosive combination of electronics and live percussion. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
The Festival Office is located in Pałac Krzysztofory, with the entrance from ul. Szczepańska 2 street. Be sure to come here to exchange your pass for the festival wristband and an ID badge, as this is the only place to do so. It will be open from 12:00 to 18:00 every day during the festival. It’s also a place to purchase individual tickets to events. Check the event pages on our website schedule to see what’s available.
