For the fourth time, Unsound Adelaide opens today in Australia as part of Adelaide Festival - one of the world's most renowned arts events.
The festival within a festival takes place over two nights in the landmark Thebarton Theatre, with music programs spanning various interconnected genres, from ambient and post-classical to experimental dance sounds from across the globe. Artists include the likes of Johann Johannsson (who is up this Sunday for an Academy Award), Fennesz & Lillevan, Kode9 & Lawrence Lek, Kangding Ray & Barry Burns (of Mogwai), Jlin & Florence To, RPBoo, Paula Temple, Powell & Lorenzo Senni, Babyfather featuring Dean Blunt, Vessel and Tralala Blip. As Tim Shiel said on a Double J radio show dedicated to Unsound, "You don't see many music festival lineups like this in Australia."
You can check out the music program on the Adelaide Festival website, where tickets are still available.
Building further on the international relationship between Unsound and multi-arts festivals, Unsound Toronto continues its collaboration with Luminato Festival in June this year in the unique space of the abandoned Hearn Generating Station.
