October 17, 2017

The 15th edition of Unsound Krakow wrapped up last Sunday. We’d like to thanks to every artist, audience and team member involved in the festival. Highlights were many, the atmosphere wonderful. We look forward to continuing to produce the flagship Unsound event next year.

In the meantime, other Unsound events are fast approaching, on three different continents.

Unsound Halloween events take place at the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts in Toronto on 27th October and 3rd November. The first night features Jlin & Company Wayne McGregor dancers performing Autobiography Edits, based on the British choreographer’s new show, as well as a screening of the film Under the Skin with Mica Levi’s live soundtrack performed by Unsound Toronto Orchestra conducted by Evan Mitchell. November 3rd features Emmy-winning composers Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein performing their soundtrack to the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, with an immersive MFO light show. Also on the bill is the Toronto premiere of ambient legend GAS and the haunting Polish band Księżyc, combining Slavic sounds with avant-garde theatre. Note that there is a limited ticket discount period from now until October 22, with all tickets priced at $35 and $45. Tickets available here.

The Unsound year then comes to an end in London on 8th December, with Unsound Dislocation: London, a one night event. The program includes NIVHEK (Liz Harris/Grouper) & MFO presenting After its own death, created while resident in the isolated landscape of Murmansk, deep in the Russian Arctic. This show just had its premiere at Unsound Krakow. The Caretaker (Leyland Kirby of V/VM) will create a show searching through memory and time, with visuals from Aphex Twin collaborator Weirdcore. Then there’s Soft Power, London-based electronic musician felicita working with traditional dancers from Poland’s Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble. And topping it all off is a post-show DJ set from the Lebanese-born and Berlin-based Rabih Beaini. Tickets available here.

We hope to see you at one of these events. Thanks again to everyone for your ongoing support!
