Here's a special treat: a 2-hour Podcast of Ikonika's dynamic set from Krakow's 2009 Unsound Festival. Ikonika's album "Contact, Love, Want, Have" was recently released on Hyperdub, whose sophisticated tracks contain a mix of styles, synths, bass and blips, cementing her reputation as a major voice in UK club music, resisting easy categorization. Recorded during Unsound's "Bass Mutations" night, this podcast also shows what a great DJ she is.

Lots of recordings were made at Unsound Festival in Krakow in October 2009, but this is the first to be released: a cracking DJ set from Untold. Releasing on Hessle Audio, Hotflush and his own Hemlock label, Untold was one of the big dubstep discoveries last year. The set also celebrates Untold's inclusion in the lineup of Unsound Festival New York, taking place between 4.02 and 14.02 of Feb. Catch him at the Bunker in Williamsburg on 13.02, as part of a massive Bass Mutations night.
Based in Wroclaw, My Head is Dubby are a collective that has been organizing dubstep events for the past three years, making them Polish pioneers. They also run a radio show. To coincide with the “Bass Mutations” night in Manggha, MHID have delivered a massive mix more than 120 minutes long. It starts off with two producers appearing at Unsound this year, 2562 and Untold, before lurching off on an excursion of bass heavy music that showcases many of the artists they’ve invited to their events over the years – as well as a host of others. The mix was put together by q600, who also has some of his own productions in there.
Want to feel as if you’ve been dragged through a discoteque where the air is filled with the heavy haze of psychedelic substances? Polish winter lies outside the club, snow pushed against the wall, but don’t worry: it’s warm in here. Welcome to the ever-so-elegantly freaky work of Eltron John, Krakow’s own DJ. A graduate of the Red Bull Academy, Eltron spins discs almost every weekend somewhere in Poland, and runs the club night “Someone Loves You” at Caryca, a Krakow bar where the interior looks like a Polish Grandmother’s apartment. Rumours have it he’s also started putting together his own productions. Eltron has come out in fine form to deliver a mix both blissful and eccentric for Unsound Podcast # 5. Eltron will be opening on Thursday 22.10 at Unsound, at the No Visa Required Night. You’ll be taking quite a trip, and don’t worry: nobody will check your passport, just your ticket.
