Sax Ruins

Sax Ruins is a project by Tatsuya Yoshida and Ryoko Ono, formed in 2006 to play Ruins' music restructured for drums and saxophone. Yoshida is one of the most important and prolific musicians on the Japanese avant-garde scene, an extremely skilled drummer known for his works with cult prog group Ruins, as well as Kōenjihyakkei, Daimonji, Korekyojin, Acid Mothers Temple, Mainliner and collaborations with Tsuneo Imahori, Eiko Ishibashi, Keiji Haino, Piotr Zabrodzki and Uchihashi Kazuhisa. For Sax Ruins he's joined by Ryoko Ono, an improv saxophone player using "non-breath" circulation technique and multiphonics to achieve rich and complex sounds.
