Unsound and Up To Date Festival To Host A 2-Day Party Together in Warsaw
Kraków’s Unsound and Białystok’s Up To Date Festival will meet at a geographical and curatorial point halfway between their festivals, to co-present a two-day event in Warsaw’s club Jasna 1. Taking place on 20th and 21st of April, the parties will blend the character and interests of both festivals across two stages, presenting some of their long-time favourites and a breadth of Polish talent.
The event serves as a prelude to both festivals. Unsound announced its dates just last week, taking place from 7th to 14th October, while Up To Date Festival is slated for the 7th and 8th September and has already started the early bird sale of passes.
Up To Date Festival, hidden from the hustle and bustle of big cities, takes place every year in Bialystok, in the heart of north-eastern Poland. In the first days of September, a place famous for pristine landscapes, wild nature and deep forests turns into a mecca of electronic and bass music, attracting about 8,000 participants. Festival events take place in such diverse spaces as, for example, the Białystok Opera, underground parking lots of the City Stadium and the Branicki Palace.
Kraków’s Unsound celebrated its 15th anniversary last year with its most popular and successful edition yet, themed Flower Power. Since its inception in 2003, the festival has grown significantly, taking place across the city by adapting and revitalising unusual places, as well as expanding to New York, Adelaide, Toronto, London, as well as countries in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Caucasus.
The lineup and ticket prices for this special Warsaw extravaganza will be revealed soon. Meanwhile, you can sign up for the event on Facebook, and follow both festivals on social media:
