Unsound Day 5. Welcome All Long Weekend Ticket Holders!

Oct 16

Yesterday's shows in Manngha brought two surprises - SHAPE artist Yves de Mey and Prurient. You can find the full lineup and more info about these artists on our website now. More surprises coming today!

Today's Morning Glory show was performed by Raphael Rogiński, a Polish guitarist who presented his interpretations of John Coltrane music. A big thanks to Manggha museum for hosting us, and apologies for a delay caused by having to move venues.

The discussion program continues today with panels on recent Polish interpretations of African-American works; race, identity and the global underground; and Mat Dryhurst presenting a talk on “Saga”, a tool allowing artists to share their own work online.

The Peace Garden sessions also start today - special yoga classes with Laraaji. Please remember to bring your own mat. Tickets can be bought at the door.

The first of the evening concerts takes place in Wieliczka, with two surprise artists, as well as DJ Richard. If you are going to the shows, you can pick up your train ticket at the office. As we've said repeatedly, you MUST get there early otherwise you will miss the start of the show, due to the fact it will take a long time to transport everyone down to the concert hall via a single elevator. Please be patient and understanding, due to the unique nature of the venue. DJ Richard starts at 5.30pm. Further info on logistics and transport here. The Wieliczka shows are sold out.

The first night of three nights at Hotel Forum includes Holly Herndon and Amnesia Scanner, while Lady Gaga collaborator Starlight adds a surprising twist to techno legend Surgeon’s live show. The night also traverses the globe to showcase artists subverting paradigms of 4/4 club music including Nkisi and Angel-Ho from Non Records – a collective of politically-minded African and African diaspora artists, Lexxi and Endgame from London’s Endless crew, and Firmeza from Portugal’s Principe Discos. But that’s not all: there’s also a secret (and blistering) Unsound-commissioned world premiere, Lutto Lento opening with a sneak peek of his forthcoming album, and the singular DJ Nobu from Japan to close. Tickets will be available at the door.

The Festival Office this year is located in the Muzeum Historyczne Miasta Krakowa, Rynek Główny 35 (entrance from Szczepańska 2 street). Opening hours: 12:00 - 18:00. You can exchange your pass for a wristband here, and also buy individual tickets.

Also remember that we have prepared a special offer for all Unsound attendees together with MyTaxi. You can get a 30 PLN voucher for your first trip, perfect for a late night return from Hotel Forum. More information here.
