It’s been a busy year for Unsound with festivals in all sorts of places around the world including Adelaide, Batumi, Bishkek, Toronto, New York, Vladivostok and Dushanbe - most part of Dislocation series. Now it's time for a grand finale of 2016, with the main edition in Kraków starting today! A big welcome to all artists and audience members!
To kick off is something very special, a pre-opening show with renowned new music pianist R. Andrew Lee performing Dennis Johnson's "November" in The Krakow Music Academy. Lasting an epic five hours, this concert is free.
The Unsound opening tonight at ICE Krakow features Dasha Rush and Stanislav Glazov performing "Dark Hearts of Space", Dasha's audiovisual project exploring the poetic aspect of black holes. Afterward, techno legend Moritz von Oswald will perform with Kyrgyz band Ordo Sakhna, fusing electronic and traditional music in a collaboration initiated at Unsound Dislocation: Bishkek. This event is sold out online and at the Unsound office, but a limited number of tickets should be available at the door depending upon capacity. These concerts are presented with the Goethe-Institut Krakow and Krakowskie Biuro Festiwalowe.
The night then moves on to our traditional free opening party at Kamienna warehouse, with Dasha Rush, Lena Willikens, Bryan Kasenic all presenting DJ sets, as well as live shows from the Biuro Dźwięku Katowice team: AARPS and Ceglarek & Dybała. See you there!
