Launch of AIDOL 爱道, presented with SHAPE

Lawrence Lek’s film AIDOL 爱道 is the sequel to his 2017 CGI film Geomancer. Featuring a score written and orchestrated by the artist, this computer-generated fantasy tells the story of a fading superstar, Diva, who enlists an aspiring AI songwriter to mount a comeback. Set in a smoke-and-mirrors realm of fantastical architecture, sentient drones and snow-deluged jungles, AIDOL 爱道 revolves around the long and complex struggle between humanity and Artificial Intelligence.

This film is available for viewing for free on Vimeo throughout the festival week. It premieres here. It also ties into a live online presentation of AIDOL 爱道 and discussion on Saturday October 10th.
