ATOM

Unsound 2012 offers a rare opportunity to experience ATOM, a multimedia performance created by Robert Henke of Monolake and Christopher Bauder. In a room filled with sound generated by a four-channel system, a dynamic matrix of illuminated balloons “floats in space like the atoms of a complex molecule.” This sound-light-and-movement sculpture had its premiere at TESLA Berlin in 2007, and the following year music from the installation was released on CD and vinyl.

Responsible for the music, sound design and LED patterns, Robert Henke is a multidisciplinary artist, thinker, composer and software developer. His work, rooted both in academic research and in the dynamism of underground club culture, helped shape contemporary techno and neighbouring music genres.

Christopher Bauder, a founder of White Void, provides the balloon motion control.
