Outspoken, defiant in his opinions and vision, Alex “Omar” Smith is a Detroit House and Techno producer. Fitting into a lineage that includes the likes of Theo Parrish and Moodymann, he is currently one of the few real underground House producers. He runs the FXHE label and releases his own tracks as well as some collaborations through limited pressings. His music is known for its rough and raw quality, and has long had a dedicated following. Omar-S gained wider exposure this year after he released a mix of his own tracks on the “Fabric” mix CD series.
