Mount Kimbie is a UK duo made up of Dominic Maker and Kai Campos, who met one another at university in Peckham. They have followed two acclaimed EP's released on Hotfiush with "Crooks and Lovers", an album that explores introspective realms of the dancefloor, affecting the listener via emotional and ambient soundscapes, as well as disjointed, stuttering rhythms. Praised by both undergound and mainsteam press for playing with, subverting and ignoring dubstep's conventions, the lush world of "Crooks and Lovers" is definitely expanding their audence. It seems safe to assume a bright, inventive future lies ahead for Mount Kimbie.
