UK-based Demdike Stare is the occult project of Miles Whitticker (MLZ) and crate digger Sean Canty (member of the Finders Keepers collective). They fuse fragments from horror movie soundracks with Turkish, Iranian and West Indian library records, snaking percussion, fragmented dub and experimental music to create a project that's dark in the most pleasurable way. Their critically acclaimed 2009 album "Symbiosis", released on Modern Love, is being been followed by a triology of vinyl-only LP's in 2010. Live, they make use of transformed visuals from horror films, and blend even more dancefloor-friend elements into their distinctive ink-black sound.
