Cut Hands

Cut Hands is the new project from William Bennett, the creator of the legendary UK power electronics / noise group Whitehouse.

With Cut Hands, Bennett has been influenced by a well-documented fascination with African culture, rituals and sociopolitical issues. The debut Cut Hands album is "Afro Noise 1," which fuses noise and traditional African percussive instruments such as djembes and doun douns. The result is perhaps Bennett's most accessible work to date, yet without surrendering any of his trademark intensity or uniqueness.

Kiran Sande wrote in Fact Magazine: "Bennett sees ‘afro noise’ as not just as a self-contained project but as an entire genre, and this album shows he’s found myriad different ways to express himself within its paramaters. It’s a triumph not just of concept and composition... 'Afro Noise I' does indeed create an incredible excitement, and you should buy it:  it’s one of only two or three albums released this year that deserves your time, your money and your attention."

The Cut Hands live show will also involve visuals.
