Sinfonietta Cracovia

Established in the early 90s, Sinfonietta Cracovia ranks among the leading Polish and European orchestras, operating under the patronage of the Mayor of Krakow. The orchestra emerged from an initiative of young musicians at the Music Academy in Krakow, and thanks to the artistic leadership of violinist Robert Kabara, Sinfonietta Cracovia has grown and transformed into an ensemble renowned throughout Europe. Their achievements have opened doors to collaboration with composers and conductors such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Antoni Wit, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Christoph Eschenbach, Lorin Maazel, Valery Gergiev and John Axelrod.

Sinfonietta Cracovia have also appeared at Unsound Festival many times, performing music with artists like Stars of The Lid, Jóhann Jóhannsson and others. At Krakow's Sacrum Profanum festival they have also performed special shows with the likes of Cinematic Orchestra and Mum.

At Krakow Unsound 2010 and Unsound Festival New York they presented "Music for Solaris" with Ben Frost and Daniel Bjarnason, including film manipulations by Brian Eno and Nick Robertson.

This year they will perform the work of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and Arvo Pärt, as well as collaborate with A Winged Victory For The Sullen.
