Black Rain & Kotra

Black Rain is the post industrial project of New Yorker Stuart Argabright, also known for the minimal post-punk outfit Ike Yard, Shinichi Shimokawa, Dave Vulcan, Bones and Thom Furtado. Black Rain’s mid-90s recordings, originally created as a soundtrack to “Johnny Mnemonic,” basked in visions of cyber dystopia, exploring the murky worlds of novelist William Gibson. They have been rediscovered thanks to the Blackest Ever Black label, which saw a link between Black Rain and today’s dark, heavily rhythm-based experimental music scene. Twelce years past the millennium fever, Black Rain’s cyberpunk prophecies have gained new relevance. Black Rain will not only present his solo music, but also pieces with Ukrainian artist Kotra, prepared for Unsound Festival New York 2012.
