Ensemble LPR is the flexible classical house band of the performance venue (Le) Poisson Rouge in Greenwich Village, New York City. Led by LPR's two young founders, David Handler (violinist/composer) and Justin Kantor (cellist), along with their fellow Manhattan School of Music graduate Orlando Alonso (conductor/pianist), Ensemble LPR performs music from the early and baroque eras to the present, and comprises a membership of New York City's most accomplished and forward-thinking young instrumentalists, composers, and improvisers, who themselves personify the venue's aesthetic focus on genre-blind listening and programming.
