Thomas Melchior’s career stretches back twenty years, one that begins with the early London acid house and techno undergound, where he hooked up with artists such as Baby Ford, Mark Moore, Big Audio Dynamite and Carl Craig. As part of the duo Vulva/Yoni, Melchior released the legendary From The Cockpit album on Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label; soon enough they were performing with Aphex Twin, Autechre and Orbital, among others. Over the past decade, Melchior’s music interests have shifted towards producing more minimal deep style house tunes, leading to Melchior Productions. Melchior Productions release on Perlon and Playhouse labels. No Disco Future, on Perlon, has been described as one of the greatest House albums of all time. Pitchfork gave it a score of 8.6 signalling its cross over potential, and called it “the best record of his career. They wrote: “No Disco Future grabs, it blankets, and it holds… I can think of few albums in all of house and techno that feel warmer and more comforting.”
