Skream

The 21-year old South Londoner from Croydon is a driving force behind the massive popularity boost that dubstep scene encountered in the course of just few years. Skream, also known as Olivier Jones, started producing at the age of 15 alongside his childhood friend Benga, bringing up dark, minimalistic and techincal tunes as his trademark. In just 6 years Skream managed to change the course of urban music worldwide and helped to introduce dubstep as one of the most exciting new sounds in recent years. A turning point for Skream himself and dubstep as post-uk-garage heritage on the whole was releasing Midnight Request Line - a true dubstep anthem, played out to wide public for the first time by Youngsta at the legendary FWD, a weekly dubstep-devoted night at Plastic People in London. Since then Midnight Request Line has been rapped over by the finests of the british grime, acts such as Dizzee Rascal and JME. His last EP - Skreamizm vol.4 - was released in the autumn of 2007.
