NEWS ON UNSOUND ACTIVITIES IN 2013: ITS NOT "THE END" ITS THE BEGINNING - KRAKOW, USA, LONDON and ADELAIDE EVENTS

It's high time to spread some info regarding Unsound's activities this year. Firstly, we can officially announce that we've decided "The End" was not an end at all, but rather a new beginning - and in October you can expect the 11th edition of Unsound Krakow. Please set you calendar and saves the dates October 13th - 20th.

In 2013, after three highly successful editions, Unsound Festival New York is taking a year off. Rest assured we'll be returning for a fourth edition in New York in 2014. Americans will be happy to hear that there will be a special Unsound on Tour in the USA in July 2013. This mini festival will be presented with the Polish Cultural Institute in New York and will focus on Polish artists. Confirmed are LXMP (who lit up Unsound Festival New York last year with their live rendition of Herbie Hancock's LP "Future Shock") and Piotr Kurek's wonderful project Piętnastka, both combining synths and drums. Additionally Bambino Sound System will set up a traveling exhibit of Polish sound postcards - and perform a raw "DJ set" on Bambino Record players from the 70s. Some more surprises will be announced. If you're interested in Unsound on Tour coming to your city or town, and have some ideas on how to make that happen, then please don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

Back in Europe, we're also co-presenting the Unsound-commissioned work Kleksploitation at the Barbican in London on Sunday March 17th. Created by Andy Votel, this is a homage to "Pan Kleks", the Polish trilogy of films for children from the 1980s, and is part of the Kinoteka Polish Film Festival produced by the Polish Cultural Institute London. This is a prelude to a bigger Unsound event in London, which is scheduled to take place later this year.

And much further down south, Unsound Adelaide is approaching, as part of the Adelaide Festival - Australia's oldest and most prestigious arts festival. Unsound Adelaide takes place between March 15th - 17th and includes a number of works we have commissioned over the years such as "Trinity" by Lustmord and Biosphere, "Solaris" by Ben Frost and Daniel Bjarnason, and Demdike Stare's "Concealed" - as well as some of our favourite artists.
