Irish band Altar of Plagues have announced they will play their last ever show at Unsound 2013.

In a statement released today, the band's frontman James Kelly said: "Our very final performance will be on October 19th, at UNSOUND Festival Poland. As a festival that celebrates the eclectic and the eccentric, I can think of no other place that would be more appropriate for this occasion. It is exactly the type of environment in which I have always aspired to share our work, and it will be a celebratory occasion to conclude at what I believe will be the peak of our existence as a group."

The news follows the release of their critically acclaimed album "Teethed Glory and Injury", which takes Altar of Plague's black metal derived sound even further into experimental / electronic / industrial realms. Altar of Plagues are set to play before Earth at Unsound 2013, in a former tram hall at the Engineering Museum, one of the festival's unique and key venues.

The next round of Unsound artists will be announced this Monday 22 July.

Weekly and Weekend Festival passes are now almost sold out, with over 60% purchased outside of Poland in 20 different countries. Those who miss out on a pass will still be able to attend Unsound, with individual tickets to events going on sale in August.

Tickets to Robert Rich's Sleep Concert are already on sale and also going fast. This event is one of a few special shows this year that lie outside the main program and need to be purchased separately from the festival pass.
