Robert Piotrowicz
Warsaw-based, Robert Piotrowicz is one of the most prolific artists in the Polish experimental and improvised music scene.
As an instrumentalist, he works mainly with his own live performance setup, developed around his electric guitar and an analogue modular synthesizer. He is both an accomplished performer of his own music and experienced improviser in different instrumental configurations with other artists. His other activities include electro-acoustic studio compositions, music for theatre and sound installations and participation in interdisciplinary art projects.
Piotrowicz has developed his trademark sound of intense dynamics seized in dramatic and balanced form over several solo albums the last of which "Lasting Clinamen" was released in 2008. Piotrowicz has also collaborated and/or recorded with Anna Zaradny, Burkhard Stangl, Valerio Tricoli, Oren Ambarchi, Jerome Noetinger, Martin Klapper, XavierCharles, Lasse Marhaug, John Hegre, Tony Buck, Kevin Drumm and others.
He also co-founded and co-curated the respected Polish experimental music Festival and label Musica Genera.
Robert will be appearing in a duo at Unsound Festival New York with American C. Spencer Yeh, as well as performing solo.
