The Conet Project

The Conet Project documents the mysterious shortwave numbers stations believed to be operated by government agencies to communicate with deployed undercover spies through broadcasts of formatted numbers. They allowed the recipients to remain undetected, being able to receive the signal regardless of their position. The Cold War-rooted mystery has inspired many musicians, including Boards of Canada and Flying Lotus. The Conet Project will present selected recordings at Listening Stations, taken from the famed album “Recordings Of Shortwave Numbers Stations”.
