Unsound Productions is an agency dealing with the development and touring of special projects, as well as working with artists we feel an affinity with in different ways.

We are delighted to announce that we are working with Hildur Guðnadóttir on touring the live presentation of her music from hit HBO TV show Chernobyl, which had its premiere at Unsound Krakow in 2019. We’ve known Hildur for a long time through her place in the experimental music world and Unsound shows, but over the past year she’s reached a wider audience through her music for Chernobyl and Joker.

The performance is a unique, layered experience, incorporating field recordings as well as Hildur’s voice, to create a unique multichannel work for industrial and post-industrial spaces. Joining her on stage are Sam Slater and Chris Watson, who helped realise her vision for the TV score. Immersive lighting is created by Theresa Baumgartner, and sound spatialisation by Francesco Donadello.

We are also happy to announce that we are booking shows for James Kirby aka The Caretaker, who also performed at Unsound in2019, with visual artist Weirdcore. Although he has appeared on stage only rarely over the past decade, James is now considering select presentations of The Caretaker, with shows tailored specifically and uniquely based on their location, and is also open to performing under one of his various other aliases, from Leyland Kirby to The Stranger.

Unsound Productions continues to manage Jlin, who is developing an array of new collaborations as well as working on new music for her next album, and we are also continuing to work with Slikback and Robin Fox.

Other projects represented by Unsound Productions include Ben Frost and Daniel Daníel Bjarnason's Solaris, with visuals by Brian Eno and Nick Robertson, and Autobiography Edits by Company Wayne McGregor with music by Jlin. Over the past year, Unsound Productions has also produced Polish recording sessions for Ben Frost for scores for the TV series Dark, as well as an upcoming TV series by Ridley Scott. The first was recorded with Polish jazz and improv musicians, the second with Sinfonietta Cracovia.
