Starting This Week: Unsound Discord Residency With Jak Ritger and Abbey Pusz. We Need Your Contributions!

Unsound was one of the world’s first music festivals to set up Discord – back in 2020, during the pandemic, to create a community space as part of our online event. As festivals have shifted back into IRL zones, our Discord has been left rather inactive and forlorn… until now!

Starting this Sunday, Jak Ritger and Abbey Pusz of New Models and Do Not Research will lead a one-month artist residency on Unsound Discord. The duo will lead an excavation of the first 19 years (20 editions) of the Kraków festival, also digging through events in New York, Toronto, Adelaide, Minsk, Kyiv and beyond. ‘Bring out your stories, ticket stubs, polaroids and your hottest outfit: we want to archive it all!’ say Abbey and Jak.

What Abbey and Jak describe as ‘swarm-crafting’ events will take place every Sunday in September: 11th, 18th and 25th at 7pm CEST - live on Discord. Contribute to a collective art project that will be presented on-stage at Unsound 2022: Bubbles as part of a research project by Ritger and Pusz titled Digital Local - an investigation into the contemporary history of online communities as seen through art and politics.
