Geert Lovink

Dutch media theorist, critic and author Geert Lovink founded the Institute of Network Cultures at Amsterdam's University of Applied Sciences back in 2004, organizing conferences, publications and research networks like Video Vortex and MoneyLab, that deals with web-based revenue models in the arts. Lonvink has published numerous books, including 'Networks Without a Cause' in 2012, 'Sad by Design' in 2019 and last year's 'Stuck on the Platform', a plea to reclaim the internet from platform capitalism. Since 2022, he's been working to support Ukrainian artists, operating the streaming art studio UKRAiNATV from Kraków.
