Teoniki Rożynek & Aleksandra Słyż

Fascinated by the magical serendipity of error, Polish composer and sound designer Teoniki Rożynek uses her early musical education to inform experimental electro-acoustic works that play with our perceptions and sense of the real. Based between Stockholm and Poznań, Aleksandra Słyż, the Polish sound engineer and composer is particularly drawn to gestural performance, and employs experimental techniques to add new levels of human interaction to traditionally electronic processes.

At Unsound 2023, Słyż and Rożynek will present 'And The Sun Stood Still', an ambitious work inspired by the sun's enduring influence on society. Originally commissioned by Ephemeral Festival, the piece sees the duo team up with brass players Anna Baran, Adrian Gryciuk and Adrian Żachowski, who play euphonium and horn to help conjure ancient rituals and reflect the sun's primal mysticism.
