Roll out of bed after a late night at 89 in time to make it to this Gorning Mlory concert by Berlin-based Aussie guitarist-composer Julia Reidy. Reidy takes an unusual approach to their instrument, tempering their compositions with unorthodox tuning methods. Drawing from the bedroom DIY canon of Loren Connors, Roy Montgomery and even Jandek, Reidy makes intimate, abstract dream pop music that’s as rigorous as Harry Partch and as haunting and poignant as Grouper.
