HUMOUR BELONGS TO EVERYBODY PRESENTED WITH WYDAWNICTWO KARAKTER

Description

Dadaism was an expression of political rebellion against contemporary reality, exploring absurdity, nonsense and irony. Is there room in Poland in the 21st century for this undermining of conventions? What are the connections between humour and politics, and how can we achieve meme catharsis? Olga Drenda is a writer, translator and anthropologist interested in hauntology and aesthetics in the years of transformation in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. She returns to Unsound to talk in the spirit of Dada about humour, with reference to her new book, Word of Humour, published by Karakter.
