A night dislocated in space and time. “Inner Space: Siberia” was commissioned for Unsound Dislocation: Vladivostok and sees Helm and London-based Greek visual collective Embassy For The Displaced work with Moscow’s Moa Pillar to explore Siberia with personally sourced audio and film, including footage shot around Novosibirsk and the Altai Mountains. The new Netflix series “Stranger Things” is among the biggest TV hits of the year, an homage to the ‘80s VHS era realised in a highly allusive fashion with its music a crucial factor. In a world premiere, composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of S U R V I V E perform works from the memorable score live, with tactile sounds rooted in a classic synthesizer sound. Opening is Embassy For The Displaced’s video “Where Land Meets Sea”, about the refugee crisis on Lesvos Island, also featuring Helm’s music.
