Arturas Bumšteinas
"Bad Weather"

Lithuanian composer and sound artist Arturas Bumšteinas started working with noise machines in 2012, commissioned by Deutschland Radio Kultur to create a radiophonic composition for the centenary of Futurism. Exploring the subject even further and focusing on Baroque theatre led to the completion of “Bad Weather”, a new piece utilising three different-sized wind machines, two rain machines and one thunder machine. It aims to inverse the theatre hierarchy, using spliced pre-recorded voice as a ghostly deconstructed background, while the instruments take the lead.
