The Temporary Autonomous Znoe 1: Jam

October 18, 2013 | Hotel Forum

Tonight puts a focus on the DIY roots, uncompromising figures and more idiosyncratic sides of underground dance music. Pioneers include the seminal anti-mainstream techno collective Underground Resistance, as well as Regis, who present a special performance dissecting and re-assembling 20 years' worth of dark, brutal music. The Mullholland Drive Clinic is a "supergroup" combining Move D, Juju & Jordash and Jonah Sharp, for a free form improvised dance music extravaganza - no laptops involved. Laurel Halo, Samuel Kerridge and Gardland also offer up different approaches to live techno shows, from the abrasive to the fluid; genres get further merged and deconstructed by Helena Hoff, Stellar Om Source and Svengalisghost, via DJ and live sets, while DJ Qu teases a darkness to the surface of house music. The showcase on White Material Records sees DJ Richard, Young Male and Galcher Lustwerk bring their "no bullshit" brand of techno to the table, straight up and honest.
