Panel: Improvisation & Live Perfomance in Dance Music

October 18, 2013 | Bunkier Sztuki

Off-the-cuff jams have long been key to the studio practice of many dance music producers. But recently more artists have taken these processes into a club context, using hardware-based set-ups. Incorporating live improvisation leads to responsive, spontaneous sets. What new creative opportunities do these approaches offer? How do they work for both artists and dancers? How do they feed back into studio music, and can they unlock new stylistic avenues for club music? With Alex Murray, Mark Smith (Gardland) and Jordan Czamanski (Juju & Jordash). Moderated by Rory Gibb.
