Panel: Traces

October 07, 2018 - October 07, 2018 | Pałac Krzysztofory

Despite the impact of tourism, redevelopment and time, Jewish presence can be felt everywhere in Krakow. Decades after the end of the Second World War, how can we respectfully live around, or visit as tourists, sites connected to the Holocaust? This discussion also explores how Jewish history is regarded in Poland today, 50 years on from 1968, when part of the surviving post war Jewish population was expelled on a wave of anti-Semitism. Moderated by Luke Turner, with Jagiellonian University’s Edyta Gawron and Michael Rubenfeld, co-founder of Festivalt (Jewish Art Festival).
