Presentation: Forensic Architecture - Unearthing State Violence

October 10, 2018 - October 10, 2018 | Pałac Krzysztofory

Contemporary conflict zones are densely mediatised environments. Accounts of violent acts of human rights violations and ecocide are often distorted or muted by the official narrative. Forensic Architecture, a multidisciplinary research agency based in Goldsmiths, University of London, undertakes spatio-temporal analysis of crime scenes in an attempt to procure obscured evidence for public dialogue. In a world of alternative facts and increasing surveillance, the group inverts the gaze through an investigative practice that cross pollinates activism, academia, technology and aesthetics. Presented by FA member Stefanos Levidis, this lecture will take the audience through recent projects.
