Description

The final Hotel Forum party once again spans the globe and music genres.

The Ballroom features Forest Swords taking on the warm-up DJ duty, with a set inspired by his work with choreographers and contemporary dancers. Saudi Arabian MSYLMA follows. His industrial songs are inspired by pre-Islamic and quranic poetry. The artist is accompanied by ZULI and Karim El Ghazoly, with visuals by Omar El Sadek. Warsaw clarinetist Wacław Zimpel and electronic musician James Holden present their new collaboration; rising São Paulo band Teto Preto will play an electrifying show combining African and Brazilian music with electronics and performance art; Objekt will take the stage next, his audiovisual spectacle prepared with Ezra Miller, leading to a euphoric b2b set from Eris Drew and Octo Octa. HHY & The Kampala Unit’s Lithium Blast will stage an intense mid-program intervention focusing on Omutaba, the extraordinary Ugandan percussionist.

In The Chandelier Room, Abu Zeinah opens with a live set, building up towards techno sounds. Olivia joins forces with Chino, presenting a new live set exploring acid music. Up next, Detroit techno veteran Terrence Dixon will play a rare live show, appearing as Population One, while German-based Chilean Matias Aguayo will premiere his show Support Alien Invasion with Camille Mandoki. More sounds of the future will come courtesy of Shanghai’s Hyph11e and Nairobi’s Slikback. New Yorker Jasmine Infiniti will close the room with her dark yet eclectic approach to club music.

The Kitchen will be opened by Niemy Dotyk, also known for his eclectic DJ sets, followed by FOQL & Edka Jarząb’s noise show inspired by the feeling of getting used to living in the times of the apocalypse. Manchester-based Aya (fka LOFT) will explode the genre rulebook with her new live set, while Shanghai-based Yen Tech presents the premiere of Hypercanto, a fusion of rap and futuristic club music. DJ Plead and TSVI will explore percussive club music, while MCZO and Duke will bring the frenetic sound of Tanzania’s singeli. DJ Marcelle will play a set sure to surprise, blending unexpected inspirations from all over the world.

The Secret Lodge features Piotr Kurek with a solo synth show, and Wojtek Kurek on solo percussion. The two artists are not related, but they could be from a musical family as they’re both exceptionally talented. Next up is an improvised show from Hungarian drummer Balázs Pándi and Mikołaj Trzaska on saxophone.

Jonathan Uliel Saldanha of HHY is supported by the SHAPE Platform. Slikback is supported by We Are Europe. Matias Aguayo is co-presented with C/O Pop. Teto Preto is co-presented with Nuits sonores.
