Discussion: Polish Clubbing and the LGBTQIA+ Community

Description

The turmoil around LGBTQIA+ rights in Poland reached its peak during Pride in Białystok, where peaceful activists were confronted with far-right violence. The conflict permeates into club cultures, with battles fought online, leading to a techno festival cancellation. While some state politicians actively enable discrimination, more Poles support civil partnerships for same-sex couples with each year. How to navigate this conflict to strive for a more progressive future? Avtomat from Oramics, Miko Czerwiński from Kraków-based NGO Queerowy Maj, and Unsound’s very own Paulina Żaczek will join a conversation moderated by Maya-Roisin Slater from Resident Advisor.

The project is a part of Unsound Lab, financed by Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
