Presentation: Interdependent Music

Mat Dryhurst will dissect the ideological underpinnings of “interdependence” as a concept that he believes has run its course, and propose how a holistic protocol of interdependence might provide the necessary break for a new aesthetic and infrastructural path for music and the greater economy. Touching on club culture and the hornet’s nest of music payments, performing rights associations and copyright, this talk will present some high and low tech proposals that speculate on different kinds of relationships between artists and their networks.
