Syny are Piernikowski and 1988, two artists well known in Polish underground music circles thanks to their works on the outskirts of hip-hop. Together they create dark and twisted rap music rooted deeply in rough Polish reality, harking back to the beginning of local hip hop culture. Their debut album "Orient" sounds like a decayed 90s tape, with mangled lo-fi beats that melt into a psychedelic crisis, fitting well with abstract vocal delivery. Syny tell their stories through clever wordplay and with a disregard to grammar, creating a very specific and memorable aesthethic that is especially striking in the live context.
