The Ticket That Exploded Part 1

October 17, 2014 | Hotel Forum

Legendary acts with Detroit connections appear on tonight’s post-genre bill: techno pioneer Robert Hood, the mysterious Dopplereffekt and the legendary DJ Stingray. Chicago booty house legend DJ Funk follows with a special show with Bok Bok before Teklife takes over Room 1 with a footwork bonanza. Room 2’s music for messed-up dance floors is assembled with the UK’s Diagonal label, including Powell’s first ever live show, Bronze Teeth, Russell Haswell, EVOL and Poland’s 67.5 Minut Projekt (aka LXMP). DJ sets from Germany’s Lena Willikens and Nation Records’ Traxx (with a 3-hour set) are sure to pound conventions in different ways. Berlin night and label Janus will also melt the concept of genre, with M.E.S.H., Lotic, Kablam and Amnesia Scanner turning Berlin’s techno-centric profile on its ear. Room 3 is also presented with Berlin Current/CTM.
