Artur Rumiński
Best known for his work with metal bands such as Furia, Mentor, Thaw and Gruzja, Polish guitarist Artur Rumiński is a distinctive player and composer, whose solo material merges noise, ambient and avant-garde minimalism with black metal and post-rock. On albums like 'COSMOS' and its stark predecessor 'Pocztówki', Rumiński uses his guitar like a noise generator, coaxing out alien tones that he marries with evocative field recordings and terrifying distortions. Not fully ambient or completely metal, it's a sonic landscape that's been terraformed by Rumiński's wide-ranging musical experiences.
