Robert Henke

Robert Henke is one of the true pioneers of techno, whose experimentation under the Monolake moniker has propelled electronic music in various directions, though one of his biggest contributions to the development of computer music is his involvement in the creation of Ableton Live. Having built various hardware controllers and explored multi-channel sound, Henke has now began investigating the possibilities of using lasers in installations and live performance. At Unsound he will premiere “Lumière”, a radical sonic experience with a massive yet ephemeral visual counterpoint that intersects with Unsound’s “INTERFERECE” theme. Two powerful lasers draw shapes, symbols and ultrashort pulses of light, whilst an autonomous audio engine creates rhythmical structures, intense grids of bass and spectral noises.
