Workshop: The Future is Nowhere. Alienation, Autonomy & Suspended Futurisation of Poland
FREE - REQUIRES REGISTRATION
Wiped off the European map during nineteenth-century occupations, then further buried under ideological battles of communism, nazism and capitalism, Poland remains forever trapped in unrealised potential. And yet a peculiar and unrecognised technocultural matrix has evolved. In the wake of an ongoing crisis of dominant Western narratives, this workshop explores new ways of thinking about Poland’s future. Drawing on mystics, maniacs, manifestos, poems and essays, and on the subjects of Catholic cybernetics, erotic technologies, avant-garde retrofuturisms and contemporary onironautica, it includes a video essay by Bogna Konior and a discussion led by Paweł Korzeb and Patrick Leftwich.
