Hulubalang presents Bunyi-Bunyi Tumbal
Best known for his work with Ican Harem in acclaimed Indonesian double act Gabber Modus Operandi, Kasimyn is also a seasoned solo producer and performer. He produced a handful of tracks for Björk's 'Fossora' last year, and this summer released his debut album under the Hulubalang moniker on cult Jordanian imprint Drowned By Locals. Called 'Bunyi Bunyi Tumbal' (roughly translated as 'synthetic feeling for anonymous sacrifice') the record examines the Dutch colonization of Indonesia, using harsh industrial noises and furious polyrhythms that melt through the established language of contemporary club music. Kasimyn will be appearing alongside Singaporian visual artist Brandon Tay, who uses digital media to blur the line between the tangible world and the spiritual.
