THE OFFICE OF POSTARTISTIC SERVICES - ART BEYOND ART BEYOND ART
Despite its misleading name, postart is not a new tendency in art, an aesthetic style or a prediction of the downfall of art as we know it.. The term refers to a moment in which art emerges as something unnameable, often taking from the 20th-century avant-garde repertoire (incorporating strategies of Fluxus, Dada or Happenings) and expanding towards politics, agriculture, economy, social sciences or ethnography. The official delegation of the Office for Postartistic Services (Sebastian Cichocki, Kuba Depczyński and Bogna Stefańska) will discuss changes taking place in the arts globally and in Poland, focusing on the osmosis between art and activism. They will present a case study of activities in the town of Opolno-Zdrój, at the edge of the Turów open-pit mine, making their motto ‘Opolno is the future’.
