IN(TER)VENTIONS

The idea of the Unsound in(ter)ventions series is defined by AIAD – our Artificially Intelligent Artistic Director – as a ‘work that should somehow disrupt existing program formats’.  From our open call, we selected Kraków saxophonist Paulina Owczarek. AIAD has helped us conceive of other concepts and artists to execute our int(er)ventions, including: Warsaw sound and visual artist Anna Zaradny; French guitarist and performer Julien Desprez; Swiss composer and sound artist Tobias Koch; and Ukrainian musician Heinali presenting Synthtap with Kraków tap dancer Beata Kędzia-Sowa. The Machine Listening Songbook will thread its way through the festival, exploring speech decomposition and voice-cloning, with a nod to the legacies of Dada and concrete poetry. We’ll also be adding AI-created changeover music throughout the week, delivered by Dadabots. We may or may not let you know when that’s happening.
