DISCUSSION: THE ART OF TRANSFORMATION
FREE ENTRY
Description
Working in an intersectional zone where the boundaries between music, noise and art blur, Marco Fusinato (an Australian artist whose expansive oeuvre includes a performance project that uses electric guitar to trigger projections of dissonant images) and Ash Fure (an American composer interested in interactive sound-art installations and self-invented instruments) will discuss their presentations at Unsound and how they are affected by different contexts. What are points of commonality and contrast between a music festival and, say, the Venice Biennale or a stage occupied by an experimental opera company in Los Angeles? What remains to be explored in the fertile borderlands between music and art? Moderated by ARTnews/Art in America executive editor Andy Battaglia.
