TALK: FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD

Description

How do we survive in a world that constantly overstimulates us? To Małgorzata Halber, Polish journalist and writer, contemporary noise has many faces and consequences: acoustic and light pollution, other people’s emotions, loneliness, notifications, fear, chronic fatigue, self-checkouts, privatisation of guilt, online comments, WhatsApp groups… the list goes on. On the advent of the forthcoming publication of her new book Hałas (Noise), Halber will share her thoughts on navigating this existential clamour, spicing things up with absurdist reflections on our overwhelming times. Moderated by Mateusz Witkowski, Polish journalist and co-author of Podcastex, a not-necessarily-nostalgic podcast on the ’90s and ’00s.
