WORKSHOP: BUILDING NOISE BOXES

This electrotechnical workshop with sound artist Radek Sirko will explore how to transform simple wooden or metal boxes into one-of-a-kind noise-making instruments, using piezoelectric sensors, springs, bolts, nails, screws, music box modules and other objects to make boxes resonate. The workshop will also be a lesson in soldering, prototyping and building electronic circuits – on breadboards, printed circuit boards and freeform. The constructed instruments will then be routed through various guitar effects and connected to a mixer to boost the signal. The workshop is open to beginners and requires neither manual nor technical skills – only a willingness to experiment!
