Discussion: Acting in the Face of End Times
Can we act locally in the face of the global climate emergency and a catastrophic future? How do ideas of “saving the planet” change in relationship to our worsening situation? Is there still hope in small actions, and how do we push for systemic change? How can art both act as a means of exploring crisis and an escape from it? Kraków-based activists Aleksandra Taran and Martyna Grygierek from Youth Climate Strike, and Joanna Mieszkowicz from NGO Aeris Futuro - engaged by Unsound to assess the festival’s carbon footprint - will be joined by Richard Mosse, recently returned from researching and filming new work in the wildfires of the Amazon. Luke Turner moderates.
The event is part of the INTER:FACE project commissioned by the Municipality of Kraków and Kraków Festival Office.
